Heavy cotton canvas that breaks in, not down
A dense cotton canvas with a dry, slightly stiff hand that softens over the first few wears without going floppy. It holds its shape through the wash and comes out of the dryer ready to work, not wrinkled into a rag.
Carry what the job needs
Six pockets in total: two deep cargo pockets on the thighs with flap-and-button closures, two front slash pockets, and two rear pockets. The cargo pockets swallow a phone, gloves and a folding tool without bulging.
Seams that hold under load
Double-stitched seams run the length of the legs, with bar-tacks at the pocket mouths, belt loops and crotch — the four points that split first on cheap work trousers.
A waistband that stays put
A metal button and YKK-style zip close the front, with five wide belt loops on a doubled waistband that keeps a loaded belt from rolling or sagging through the day.

Four places these pants earn their keep
One pair, four routines — from the job site to the trailhead to the weekend. Here is how they hold up in each.
Work site — the double-layer knees and cargo pockets keep your tools and phone within reach while you are up and down all day.
Hiking — the cotton ripstop weave moves with your stride and the roomy cut clears your boots on steep ground.
Camping — the relaxed fit lets you crouch and sit around the fire without binding, and the pockets hold a knife and a lighter.
Everyday — the camo reads as workwear, not costume, so they pass at the shop, the school run and the pub.
I'm 6'1" and 240 lb, and the 40 waist on these cargo pants sits right where it should — no gap at the back, no pinch when I squat down to a pallet. Six months of warehouse shifts and about twenty washes later, the cotton hasn't gone thin or fuzzy and the knees haven't bagged out. The side pockets still hold a tape measure and a box cutter without sagging. They're the first work pants I've bought twice.
Marcus T., warehouse supervisor
"Ordered my usual 36 and they ran true — no need to size up like most work trousers." — Dave R., site foreman
"Fifteen washes in and the camo hasn't faded or bled onto anything else in the load." — Piotr K., groundskeeper
"Wore them through a full 12-hour shift on a wet site — knees stayed dry and nothing tore." — Sam O., carpenter
